Our Largest AAUGA Event of the year will be Sunday December 7th in Downtown Chicago.

Once again the kind folks at DePaul University and the College of Computing and Digital Media (CDM) have donated their space and time to host our event. The details are still being firmed up, but the event will take place on Sunday December 7th. Our good friends at Avatech Solutions are donating the food and beverages for the event, and Autodesk is providing the SWAG.

November Newsletter and 3December Announcement

This is a special newsletter for our first annual 3December Celebration for Max and Maya Users, and an October Recap!

Be certain to mark Sunday, December 2nd, 2007 as 'busy', because you won't want to miss the biggest User's Group event of the year!!

'3December' is the annual celebration of all things 3D, it's name a take-off of '3D' and 'December 3rd'. This is the 9th year of the event, a theme that Autodesk has continued after acquiring Alias in 2006.

This is a Global Celebration, with events happening all over the planet in the course of the week of December 3rd. Our event is December 2nd this year. Chicago is one of the largest and fastest growing users groups for Max and Maya, and we've been working to make this a unique and special event for everyone.

October Newsletter and Meeting Announcement

September Meeting

We had another great meeting in September! Thank you to IMAGINiT for hosting our meeting, and providing the pizza and refreshments.

And a special thanks to Mark Gerhard of IMAGINiT, San Francisco, for coming up and speaking at the meeting. It was great to see the new features of 3ds max 2008 first-hand, and get answers to a number of questions on the new features.

We also got to see some of Nick Grant's student portfolio, which generated an interesting dialog about the images, and what future employers might be looking for in the portfolio and skill set of a prospective employee.

October Meeting!

Contrary to what I may have said before, we will be having an October meeting in downtown Chicago. More.......

I want to take a moment to thank everyone that came to the meeting last month, including a big contingent from Westwood College's Game Development program! We gave away a lot of swag, ate a lot of pizza, and talked about a lot of 3D related things.

Thanks to Autodesk for providing pizza and swag, and Hagerman for providing the space for the meeting!
